Michael Jackson Film Coming to Cinemas Soon. Premiere Date Announced

Earlier reports regarding the approximate release date of the biographical film "Michael," about the life and career of Michael Jackson, have been confirmed. The production, originally scheduled for release on October 3rd of this year, will now premiere next year, specifically on April 24th.

Lionsgate has ended speculation regarding the release date of "Michael," which began with a statement from studio president Jon Feltheimer in May of this year. He announced that the production, eagerly awaited by fans of the King of Pop, would be presented in the next fiscal year.

The film opens on April 1st, so it was certain the film wouldn't be released before then. Now, it's known that the premiere will take place on April 24th . It's unclear whether the film will be released in its entirety or split into two parts.

According to Feltheimer, producer Graham King and director Antoine Fuqua provided the studio with three and a half hours of "wonderful" footage shot during filming that initially wrapped last May.

Later, extensive reshoots were necessary due to changes to John Logan's script. These changes were due to legal issues related to the portrayal of Michael Jackson's controversial life on screen. The production ultimately ended up with a budget of $155 million.

As the creators of "Michael" announce, viewers will receive an intimate portrait of the artist's life and learn how he became one of the most influential music stars and a musical pioneer . Previously, producers mentioned that the production would not avoid difficult topics from Jackson's biography, and the fact that the film was being made with the blessing of the musician's loved ones would not hinder such an honest narrative.

The blessing doesn't end there. Michael Jackson's nephew, Jaafar Jackson , stars in Fuqua's film. The role of young Michael is played by Juliano Krue Valdi . Other cast members include Colman Domingo (Joe Jackson), Nia Long (Katherine Jackson), Miles Teller (John Branca), Larenz Tate (Berry Gordy), and Kat Graham (Diana Ross).
