The people of Szczecin are not sleeping

The Night of Museums attracts lovers of art, history and culture. Even before 6 p.m., a queue of visitors formed in front of the main building of the National Museum on Wały Chrobrego to experience the unique atmosphere of night sightseeing.
The symbolic opening of this year's edition belonged to Agnieszka Bortnowska, acting director of the National Museum in Szczecin, who personally welcomed the guests by opening the doors of the building at Wały Chrobrego for them.
All branches of the National Museum in Szczecin are open to visitors: the Museum of Szczecin History, the Museum of Regional Traditions, the Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as one of the most important places of the evening – the Przełomy Dialogue Centre. It was there that one of the largest queues traditionally formed, and residents visited the permanent exhibition devoted to the latest history of the region with interest.
This year's attractions at the National Museum include the exhibitions "Mystery of Light. Medieval Art in Pomerania", "Hidden Meanings. Art in Pomerania in the 16th and 17th Centuries", as well as an exhibition of works by students of the Academy of Art entitled "Genealogy 2024", inspired by old artifacts from museum collections.
The Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic also had many guests. In the Level 4 Gallery, visitors could see the exhibition Helmut Newton. Music & Portraits, presenting the works of one of the most famous photographers of the 20th century. It was complemented by a screening of the film "Helmut Newton by June" in the symphony hall.
In Art.Room, the smaller gallery space of the Philharmonic, the exhibition Z miłości do Szczecina (From Love to Szczecin) was waiting. It is a photographic and illustrative story about the city, whose authors are Anna Niemiec, Alicja Tomaszewska, Monika Szymanik, Radosław Kurzaj and Przemysław Krzyżanowski.
