The whole world was talking about this interview with Eastwood. Turns out... he never did it

A few days ago, an interview given by Clint Eastwood to the Austrian newspaper "Kurier" made a wide impact. He confessed in it that he does not intend to end his career, is already preparing a new film and misses the good old days, when remakes and sequels did not reign in cinemas. As it turns out, the interview was completely fabricated. Eastwood claims that he never gave it.

- There have been a few things in the news recently about me. I thought I would set the record straight. I can confirm that I am 95 years old, and that I have never given an interview to the Austrian newspaper Kurier. I have never given any other interview. The one I mentioned is completely false, Clint Eastwood told Deadline.

The alleged interview was published on May 30, the day before the star's 95th birthday.

The Austrian newspaper may now have a problem. Eastwood is not one to let this type of fraud go unpunished. In 2021 and 2022, the star won millions in damages in two separate cases against CBD companies that used his name and image to boost sales of their products. The ads suggested that Eastwood had given an interview on the Today show, in which he talked about growing cannabis. The star proved that he had never given such an interview.

"Kurier" reported on its website, in a note to the interview, that "the editorial team is currently investigating this matter, which will take some time due to the time difference with the United States."
