Building plots at half price. This is how they want to attract young people to the city

- The first tender for the sale of building plots received more than twice as many offers as there were properties for sale.
- The authorities of Suwałki have already announced that the "Building Plots for Young People" program will be continued.

- Seeing how much interest there is, we will soon announce a tender for the sale of more properties. It will take place in over a month. Therefore, if someone does not manage to buy a plot now, they will have a chance to do so in a few weeks - commented Czesław Renkiewicz, the mayor of Suwałki, on social media.
In this way he referred to the interest in the first recruitment of the city's "Building plots for the young" program. The city has designated 48 building plots for sale, and 20 of them went under the hammer in the first tender. The office received 54 bid bonds, which is a clear signal for the city: a good direction has been chosen, which will be continued.
The aforementioned 48 building plots in Suwałki have been valued at amounts ranging from PLN 182,000 to PLN 257,000 . However, it will be possible to purchase them for 50 percent less. For how much exactly? It depends on the buyers themselves, because the tender itself is held in the form of an auction.
A building plot is not for everyone. You have to meet a few specific conditionsHowever, not everyone can buy a plot of land in the Suwałki office program. Several conditions must be met before the purchase, and several within a few years after it . Here are some of these conditions:
- the purchaser of the property must not have reached the age of 40 on the date of sale of the property or, if they are spouses, at least one of them must not have reached the age of 40 on the date of sale of the plot,
- the completion of the development of the purchased plot with a residential building will take place no later than 6 years from the date of purchase of the property,
- the purchaser of the property cannot be the owner or co-owner with a share of 50% or more of a real estate located in Suwałki, developed or undeveloped, designated for residential construction; the same applies to married couples.
In addition, the office reserves that it will demand a refund of the discount in the following circumstances :
- failure to meet the condition related to building a house within 6 years,
- sale of a plot of land within 10 years of its purchase,
- failure to obtain the Suwałki Resident Card within 3 months from the date of construction completion.
Wrocław also offers high discounts on real estate purchases. A 20-meter municipal studio apartment can be purchased for as little as a dozen or so thousand złoty, because the city offers discounts of up to 93 percent.
The conditions are considered by some as "simple". You have to: be a tenant of a municipal flat, not have another flat in Lower Silesia and not sell the flat for 10 years. In the event of failure to meet this last flat, the city will demand the return of the bonus.
Between 2021 and 2024, Wrocław sold over 2.5 thousand apartments in this way. The size of the apartments ranged from 16 to 154 square meters and their average price - after taking into account the discount - was just under PLN 66 thousand.
