This concerns Alstom Polska , a company with French capital and a factory in Chorzów , and Stadler Polska , whose production plant is in Siedlce and belongs to the Swiss group.
The former's bid for 42 vehicles exceeded PLN 4 billion , with maintenance costs approaching PLN 2.8 billion. Stadler, on the other hand , proposed just under PLN 4 billion for the same number of rail vehicles, with maintenance costs exceeding PLN 3 billion. Both proposals fall within PKP Intercity's cost estimate.

PKP Intercity also provides space for bicycles and large luggage . The trains will be fully accessible to passengers with disabilities.

It also noted that currently in Poland, double-decker carriages run at speeds of up to 160 km/h and are used by regional rail companies only on short routes.
The Ministry of Infrastructure , announcing the opening of the envelopes in the tender for double-decker trains for PKP Intercity , specified in an online statement that the offers of both companies " will undergo a detailed evaluation in the coming weeks , which will allow for the selection of the contractor for the project."
Janusz Malinowski, CEO of PKP Intercity, also spoke. "Double-decker trains – we have two very good offers for the purchase and maintenance (servicing) of trains over a 30-year period , clearly below budget . Now we have a detailed analysis of the offers," he announced on Platform X.
