Minister Klimczak explained that the current train travel time to Croatia depends on the renovations that are being carried out in Slovenia. "That was the main the problem of creating this train because the railway capacity in this country was in question. The second issue is the renovations that are also underway in Poland - we know that in the Silesian Voivodeship we have mega investments," he noted.

"From the information provided to me by the PKP Intercity team, it appears that that we are able to shorten the journey of this train by three in the next season hours" - said the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure.

Klimczak asked if the train would be in the future timetable will be running at night again, he argued that the departure in the afternoon and the arrival morning with the possibility of sleeping at night is the right formula. "Of course, about this The experts at Intercity, who have a lot of experience, decide" - he noted.

"I would like to emphasize that Croatia is an addition. The basic our task and what we have been working on for the last year and a half are trains - e.g. the new holiday timetable, which is record-breaking because it is a lot of new connections to places where Poles relax - to the mountains, by the sea the sea, to Masuria. That's what we're mainly focused on," he added.

The first train to Croatia will leave Warsaw on Friday 27 June. Prices for seats start from PLN 193, and for a couchette - from PLN 301. The IC Adriatic Express train will run from the capital of Poland to Rijeka four times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, from Rijeka to Warsaw - on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Its route will be approximately 1,240 kilometers, making it one of the longest railway routes available in Europe. The journey will take over 19 hours.

PKP Intercity is the largest Polish railway operator, provides communication between large cities and popular centers tourist attractions in the country, and also allows you to travel around Europe. PKP trains Intercity carried 78.5 million passengers last year, which is 15 percent more than a year earlier and 33 percent more than in 2022.
