Minimum wage up. Finance minister puts an end to speculation

- The minimum wage could increase to PLN 4,806 - Finance Minister Andrzej Domański told Polsat News. As he explained, the increase will not be lower than the forecasted inflation, which will amount to approximately 3 percent. Domański also denied reports according to which the increase in the minimum wage would be significantly lower.
As Finance Minister Andrzej Domański said in a conversation with Polsat News reporter Monika Miller , work is underway on the idea of increasing the minimum wage to PLN 4,806 . He specified that "precise provisions" on how much it should increase result from the act.
- The minimum wage will certainly not increase by less than the forecast inflation , which is about 3 percent . Converted to zlotys, this is about PLN 4,806 - he reported on Polsat News.
Thus, Domański denied the information regarding the increase of the minimum wage to PLN 4,670.70 . - We want the real value of the minimum wage to be maintained, but we know that it has been growing significantly in previous years, now it seems to be a very balanced, responsible proposal - he explained.
Minimum wage higher than PLN 5,000? "We will discuss it"The Minister also referred to the proposal of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy , according to which the minimum wage would be increased to PLN 5,020 .

- We will of course discuss this (...). On the one hand, we must remember those receiving the minimum wage , and on the other hand, we must also remember companies that often have a problem with the rising minimum wage - he noted.

According to him, cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy is "very good". - We managed to work out many important projects together: Active Parent , widow's pension , benefits for social workers . I am absolutely convinced that we will find an agreement on this topic as well - he assured.
The government has until June 15 to present the final proposal for the minimum wage , which must be forwarded to the Social Dialogue Council .
