On Tuesday, June 10, during the Transport Forum for Cross-border Cooperation, the City of Lublin, the Municipal Roads and Transport Authority, the Municipal Transport Company and the Lublin University of Technology signed a letter of intent to establish the Lublin Hydrogen Upland.
The parties want to focus on the practical use of scientific work and technological knowledge regarding hydrogen.
Today's event is not only an opportunity to exchange experiences, but also a real step towards building a future based on environmentally friendly technologies. The symbol of these activities is the signing of a letter of intent regarding the establishment of the Lublin Hydrogen Upland. I believe that this innovative entity has a chance to become one of the key centers for the development of hydrogen technologies in Eastern Poland, while supporting the local economy and strengthening the region's innovativeness.
- said Tomasz Fulara, Deputy Mayor of Lublin for Investment and Development.
Hydrogen as an Ecological Energy Carrier. How Will the City Use It?The city authorities announced that cooperation with the University of Technology, ZDTM and MPK will focus on finding practical applications of hydrogen as an ecological energy carrier - especially in transport.
Transferring knowledge from universities to the economy is very important for the development of new technologies. We have already managed to complete several large projects that have been successful. These include powering buses with fuel cells or infrastructure for storing and distributing hydrogen. Now we are working on another project. We are creating an integrated system in which energy storage, carports and charging stations cooperate with each other, providing an ecological and reliable source of power. This is a good example of how a university can respond to the needs of industry.
- explained Prof. Zbigniew Pater, Rector of the Lublin University of Technology.
- We strive to ensure that public transport in Lublin is not only efficient and accessible, but also environmentally friendly. The Lublin Hydrogen Upland is an opportunity for us to cooperate even more closely with science and industry, as well as to implement innovative solutions in the daily functioning of public transport. We believe that hydrogen technologies are one of the key elements of modern mobility - said Grzegorz Malec, Director of the Roads and Public Transport Authority in Lublin.
