This is the most beautiful allotment house in Poland. The shower looks the most interesting

Just a few metro stops from the center of Warsaw stands an extraordinary urban jungle – the singer Bovska’s “Domek Koloru”. The tiny 35 m2 ROD building has been transformed into an artistic haven, full of design and color. Is it the most beautiful allotment house in Poland? Definitely!

Who said that a summer house has to be bland? On the border of Żoliborz and Śródmieście, among old trees and bushes, Bovska (Magda Grabowska-Wacławek) and her husband, animator, Grzegorz Wacławek, decided to create an unusual escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The trapezoid-triangular plot with a limit of 35 m2 was the starting point for architects Karol Pasternak, Piotr Maciaszek and Mateusz Jaworski from NOKE Architects.

The red house is a counterbalance to the garden drowning in green. Plywood walls and ceilings in a natural shade and a custom-made table tone down the space full of accessories, furniture and curtains in raspberry color.

Despite its small size, the ROD house has room for a kitchen with a bathroom, a work space and a bedroom.

A semicircular window provides light and an additional view of the garden. Design icons, led by Bruno Rey's "3300" chair and Pierre Paulin's "Groovy" armchair, and a Verner Panton lamp, add character.

The most spectacular—and romantic—part of the house is the bathroom-chimney. The oval capsule with cobalt tiles, equipped with a shower and toilet, is finished with a glass ceiling , which at night reveals the starry sky of the Warsaw jungle.

Just as impressive as the house itself is the Mother Nature surrounding the building. Not a single tree was cut down during the construction of the cottage, and among the "collectible plants" there is, among others , an 80-year-old vine that was preserved and has started to entwine the pergola again.

This unique refuge on the map of the capital is accessed through an original red gate, behind which a path decorated with raspberry stones winds. A light installation among the bushes leads to a "secret" entrance.

The red allotment house fits perfectly into the hot trend of returning to gardens, searching for greenery, even in the middle of big cities. The creators of NOKE Architects used this trend and transformed the expectations of the clients into one of the most magical, although not flaunting its splendor, places on the map of the capital.
