An Italian journalist took to social media to share the tragic experience she faced. A woman was attacked by a shark while swimming in the sea. She accompanied the Instagram post with a photo of herself in the hospital.
"It was the worst day of my life. My grandmother Nella was right when she said: the sea is treacherous. I never would have thought I could be attacked by a shark, especially so close to shore, on a crowded beach," Eleonora Boi began her post with these words.
The journalist wrote that both she and her unborn child were safe. She reported that she received prompt medical attention. Surgery was necessary on her leg, which had been bitten by a shark. The procedure was successful.
“Now I just have to recover from this huge scare,” she added.
