According to plan. A sure win for the Champions League winners at the start of the World Cup

The match started off rather sluggishly - both teams made a lot of mistakes, and the game was jerky and lacked fluidity. It was not until the 19th minute that PSG managed to put together a coherent action that ended with a goal. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made a precise pass to the penalty area, and Fabian Ruiz beat Jan Oblak with a great shot near the post.

The French team controlled the course of the first half - they dominated in the midfield, played faster, more precisely and were definitely more dangerous in front of the opponent's goal. Atletico, despite individual bursts, failed to seriously threaten Gianluigi Donnarumma. Just before the break, the Parisians increased their lead. After a quick counterattack, the ball was taken over by Vitinha, who kept his cool in a one-on-one situation and finished the action flawlessly, giving the opponent's goalkeeper no chance.
The second half of the match was opened by a great individual action by Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian moved with the ball on the left flank, easily passed the defender, went inside and fired a technical shot towards the far post. It seemed that the ball was heading for the net, but Oblak showed a phenomenal intervention - he stretched like a string and with the tips of his fingers blocked the ball onto the crossbar, saving his team from conceding another goal. A moment later, Atletico responded. After an effective reception in the PSG half, the ball went to Giuliano Simeone, who quickly passed to Julian Alvarez. The striker scored. The joy of the team from Spain did not last long, however - after a VAR check, the referee found a foul in the build-up phase of the action and decided to cancel the goal.
Towards the end of the match, emotions began to prevail over common sense, especially on the side of the Madrid team. The frustration of the Atletico players grew with every minute, culminating in the situation with Clement Lenglet. The French defender got into a heated argument with the referee and for excessive protests he was shown a second yellow card and consequently a red card.
However, this was not the end of the shooting performances at the Pasadena stadium. In the 87th minute, after a lot of chaos in the penalty area of "Los Rojiblancos", the most alert was the substitute Senny Mayulu. The young midfielder got to the loose ball and with a precise shot increased the score to 3:0. In the last minute of added time, Robin Le Normand played the ball with his hand in his own penalty area. The referee did not hesitate to point to the penalty, and Lee Kang-In kept his cool and with a confident shot from eleven meters set the score at 4:0.
The victory took the Parisians to the top of the Group B table, but this is only the beginning of the struggle. The team from the French capital will face the Brazilian Botafogo RJ in their next match. Group B is completed by the American club Seattle Sounders.
