Magdalena Fręch's entry to the court is contingent on the completion of her previous match on the court, a match between Daniil Medvedev and Corentin Moutet. The decorated Russian struggled against the Frenchman, requiring a third set. With the score at 1-6, 6-4, 5-4 in favor of Moutet, play was suspended due to an approaching storm.

"Matches have been suspended due to a storm in the area. Fans on site should seek shelter immediately," the official Washington tournament website reported.
