Basketball. Spójnia relegated, King uncertain about play-offs

The last round of the Orlen Basket League ended badly for the West Pomeranian teams. PGE Spójnia lost to Dziki in Warsaw and was relegated to the first league. King, on the other hand, did not measure up to Legia Warsaw in their own arena and will have to fight for a place in the play-offs in an additional play-in series.
King Szczecin - Legia Warsaw 81:84 (22:27, 16:20, 25:16, 18:21)
King: Aleksander Dziewa 15, Tony Meier 12, Jovan Novak 12, Isaiah Whitehead 11, Mateusz Kostrzewski 10, James Woodard 8, Marcus Lee 6, Kassim Nicholson 4, Przemysław Żołnierewicz 3, Adam Brenk 0, Maciej Żmudzki 0.
For King, the match with Legia was a duel for fourth place in the table and a place in the play-offs. However, the Polish vice-champions did not overcome their poor form from the last few weeks and did not lose for the fourth time in the last 5 rounds. Legia controlled the course of the first quarter and in the second they were already leading by 11 points. Shortly before the long break, King gained an advantage for a moment, but it was not until the third part that he emphasized his advantage. In the decisive part, King was closer to winning for 8 minutes, but Pluta's effective play in the last parts of the match allowed Legia to decide the match in their favor.
After the defeat, King fell to 7th place in the table and will have to fight for promotion to the play-offs on Saturday in an additional play-in match with Śląsk Wrocław. In the event of a defeat, the Polish vice-champions will have one more chance to make it to the final eight in a decisive match with Dziki Warszawa or Polski Cukier Toruń.
Wild Warsaw - PGE Spójnia Stargard 71:57 (16:7, 23:19, 16:14, 16:17)
PGE Spójnia: Sebastian Kowalczyk 19, Kacper Borowski 9, Jayden Martinez 7, Pawel Kikowski 6, Aleksandar Langovic 6, Malik Johnson 5, Yehonatan Yam 3, Wesley Gordon 1, Dawid Słupiński 1, Isiah Ross 0.
PGE Spójnia Stargard, having won in Warsaw against the Dziki, could celebrate staying in the Orlen Basket League, because Arka Gdynia lost their match. The players from Stargard did not take advantage of the opportunity and after seven years they are saying goodbye to the top league. After the victory, the Dziki are still in the play-off game. Spójnia started the match in Warsaw badly. In the first quarter they scored only 7 points, and in the third part they were already losing by 24 points. A spurt in the last 10 minutes allowed the players from Stargard to get closer to 3 points. The end, like most of the match, belonged to the Dziki. (voivodship)
