However, the expected excitement was not met, with the reigning European champions winning 4-0, with Lauren James of Chelsea London scoring twice as the hero of the match. Georgia Stanway and Ella Toone added the other goals.

This time, the well-known Dutch player Vivianne Miedema found herself in the shadow of her rivals, scoring her 100th international goal in the match against Wales.

"It's difficult, we have to accept that because we didn't deserve anything less today. We weren't intense enough anywhere on the pitch," Miedema admitted.

In the evening match in St. Gallen, the favorites from France had no trouble against the Welsh, winning 4-1 and taking the lead in Group D with a full set of points.

The day before, Poland lost their chance to advance to the quarterfinals. The Polish national team lost their second match, this time to Sweden 3-0. They are currently in last place in Group C and will conclude their campaign on Saturday against Denmark, who also remain without a point in the standings.
