Bright Ede from Motor Lublin to Chelsea? Formalities left

June 16, 2025 is the date Motor Lublin players will return to training. After a successful season, which ended with seventh place in the Ekstraklasa, the appetites in the team led by Mateusz Stolarski are very high. The next league campaign is to be even better than the one after returning to the highest league in Poland.

The player who had no peace during the off-season will start the preparations with the team. Bright Ede has become the talk of the Polish football world due to the interest of London clubs - Arsenal and Chelsea. At first, there was talk of interest from the Gunners, but it was "The Blues" who proved more specific in talks about bringing the 18-year-old to London. Negotiations are still ongoing, but they are to be finalized in the coming days - we hear from the club from the Lublin province.
Ede himself appeared at noon on June 15 at the Lublin University of Technology. It was there that the 26th Olympic Picnic was taking place, where Motor had developed a large area to further promote local football among the city's residents. One of the players present at the stand was an 18-year-old defender, eager to pose for photos and give autographs. Ede also stood in front of the Polsat Sport camera for a few minutes.
- Tomorrow we start the preparation period. I try to focus on the present - football is a dynamic sport, a lot is happening, but for now only Motor counts. I am here, I play here and with this team I want to enter the new season as well prepared as possible - said the Polish representative.
Motor will start the new season on July 20th with a home match against Arka Gdynia. Ede should be... in France by then. Chelsea, after spending several dozen million złoty on the Pole, is to loan him to Strasbourg, where the 18-year-old is to continue his football adventure. Interestingly, there were definitely more clubs interested in Ede's services, but the amounts offered to Motor were too low. Among others, clubs from the German Bundesliga were sent away empty-handed. How does Ede feel about such interest?
- I'm glad that such information is appearing - it's a sign that I'm developing well and my game is attracting attention. It's motivating for me, but I keep a cool head. The most important thing is not to lose focus and continue to work hard - said the 18-year-old.
Ede is a product of Delta Warsaw, where he played until the 2021/2022 season. At that time, Zagłębie Lubin reached for the Warsaw player, but after a little over two years, they sold the 17-year-old to Motor. The Polish U-18 international cost the Lublin club 100,000 euros. After six months, Motor will sell Ede for an amount more than 100 times greater.
