Football players attacked by fans. National team players were treated harshly

Football players attacked by fans. National team players were treated harshly

The last few dozen hours have been one big scuffle , which is hard to describe in a few sentences, considering the whole situation surrounding the Polish national football team. Unfortunately, apart from sensible discussion or substantive criticism, there are also many entries in the internet space... below any criticism.

Harsh comments towards footballers on social media. "Judases"

Another dose of revelations from the Polish national football team came on the night from Monday to Tuesday. First, there was a text from "Przegląd Sportowy" and Onet, in which one could find the names of those who were supposed to have spoken to coach Michał Probierz about the issue of Robert Lewandowski's captain's armband.

Then denying what was passed on, already through the Polish Football Association, in a special... night statement. And finally, morning news suggesting that the football federation had no choice, due to the pressure from the players on the coach. The version with the alleged interference of the so-called team council in the decision on changing the captain in the squad, was supposed to have no right to exist.

However, it is enough to look at the accounts of some representatives to understand what opinions are circulating in the fan community. Even through comments under photos on Instagram, not always directly related to the national team. Jan Bednarek and Jakub Kiwior, among others, got hit in the head.

"Judas, congratulations on your courage, I pity your stupidity. #probierzout"

Not all content is, of course, citable.

"Oh, that's weak, that's weak... It turns out that you do have some complexes that you can't deal with, none of you stood up for your colleagues? Were you rubbing your hands with joy that you could finally smoke him out and attract a little more attention to yourself?"

In the case of Piotr Zieliński, the new captain of the team – although injured during the June training camp – the possibility of commenting on a post related to his 100th match in the Polish national team (this is before the player) has been limited.

Which, it must be admitted, has an eloquent meaning.

2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Finland – Poland. Where and when to watch the match?

On Tuesday evening, the leader and runner-up of Group G in the qualifying round for next year's World Cup will face off at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki. It is worth noting, however, that the hosts, the Finns, have already played three matches - jointly counting one win, one loss and one draw. Hence, four points in their account. Finland, however, has the Netherlands behind them, who only started playing in the qualifying round last weekend. The great favourites of the group welcomed... the Finns on their own soil 2:0. It is therefore to be expected that the Poles' opponent on Tuesday will soon say goodbye to second place.

In the case of Poland, coach Probierz's team collected a full set of points in two matches. The national team won both matches at the PGE National Stadium, first modestly beating Lithuania (1:0) and then Malta (2:0). The winners of each of the qualifying groups will advance directly to the 2026 World Cup. In the case of the runners-up, the play-off zone will most likely decide the matter, i.e. the path that Poland took... during the last World Cup. At that time, the Poles went to the 2022 World Cup after defeating Sweden (2:0).

What time will the Finland-Poland match start? The first whistle is scheduled for 20:45. The match will be broadcast on TVP1 and TVP Sport. Additionally, the online broadcast will be available through the dedicated TVP Sport application or via the station's website.
