Football. Portowcy Stars against Pogoń

Last Saturday in Świdwin, in the hot sun, on the pitch and sports field of the Agricultural School Complex of the Stefan Żeromski Vocational Education Centre and at the Zbigniew Boniek stadium near Pamet, with the participation of 7 teams, under the media patronage of our editorial office, the 23rd Memorial of Stefan "Gadocha" Moskalewicz, the father of the famous footballer Olgierd Moskalewicz, took place, and in the sports competition the Portowcy Stars team won!

From early morning, the competition (preceded by a traditional prayer led by Father Mateusz Wasilewski from the Świdwin parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, where the reconstruction of the church tower is currently underway) took place on the school facilities, and the finals were moved to the Pamet stadium, built on the initiative of Adam Paprocki, a sports enthusiast from Świdwin. In the duel for gold, Portowcy Stars (Artur Dąbrowski, Paweł Dąbrowski, Arkadiusz Kondraciuk, Damian Górewicz, Tomasz Wydmuszek, Marcin Gniotek, Bartosz Przygórzewski, Piotr Kazanecki, Radosław Kozieł, Waldemar Kowalczyk) drew with Pogoń Szczecin (Patryk Konopka, Maksymilian Rogalski, Adam Frączczak, Edi Andradina, Damian Staniszewski, Tomasz Podobas, Rafał Andruszko, Marek Niewiada, Marcin Robak) 2:2, but won 2:1 in the penalty shootout. In the match for 3rd place, Gadocha Friends (Marcin Markiewicz, Zbigniew Długosz, Olgierd Moskalewicz, Jakub Moskalewicz, Marcin Storek, Błażej Telichowski, Maciej Stolarczyk, Paweł Magdoń, Grzegorz Niciński, Bartosz Walendzik, Bartosz Ława, Jarosław Chwastek, Dariusz Dźwigała) defeated Orzeł Trąbki Wielkie 2:0. Earlier, the final three-game match for places 5-7 took place and Rekord Pomorze triumphed in this competition, overtaking Pamet Świdwin and GKS Bełchatów. Among the well-known players, we also saw, among others, Daniel Dubicki, Edward Cecot, and Wojciech Kinczel. The top scorer of the Memorial was Marcin Gniotek, who scored 12 goals, Marcin Robak was chosen the best player, and Jessica Dyguda (Pamet) the best female player. The best goalkeeper was Artur Dąbrowski. The nicest participant of the event was Zbigniew Długosz, and the oldest - Mieczysław Piotrowski (Pamet). The most beautiful goal was scored by Robert Sztuba (Pamet), and the most spectacular intervention was made by Jerzy Goleniowski (Pamet). At the end, the teams received cups, and the players and referees - prizes in kind.

Children and the fence

As an accompanying event, a children's tournament was organized for the second time at the school Orlik (girls also participated in the teams), in which teams from the Świdwin district and Szczecin participated, and although there was no classification, the Football Academy achieved the most victories. Although there were no winners, the children had a hard time containing their emotions, and one of the players swore vehemently after a missed shot and then... kicked the fence.

Disco polo with auction

After the party on the green lawn, all participants of the memorial competition and invited guests met for a ceremonial dinner, during which the famous disco-polo band Top One, known for the hit Biały Miś, played, and in the morning during the encores, the version with a black bear appeared...

There was also an auction of sports memorabilia and gadgets donated by players of the Polish national team, footballers and other famous athletes. The funds raised will be donated to former Pogoń players, Robert Dymkowski and Andrzej Miązek.

- I would like to thank everyone who helped organize the Memorial, partners, sponsors, institutions, companies and individuals, led by Grzegorz Wójcik, with whom I played football in Pogoń many years ago - said Olgierd Moskalewicz. - For their support and help, as well as the huge amount of work put in, not only during the event, but also in the many weeks preceding the Memorial, I would also like to thank my brother Czarek, Jacek Cuch, Łukasz Szachnowicz, Marcin Nowak and the witty announcer Rafał Polak, as well as Adam Paprocki, who has recently made his sports facility available to us, which is becoming more beautiful with each passing year.
