Football. Staff changes before the start of preparations. Pogoń without Kurzawa and Malec

On Tuesday, Pogoń will begin preparations for the new season of PKO BP Ekstraklasa. There will be major changes in the team's line-up. Just before the first week of training, the club officially announced the end of cooperation with six players - Rafał Kurzawa, Mariusz Malec, Olaf Korczakowski, Marcel Wędrychowski, Luizao and Benjamin Rojas.
Kurzawa and Malec have played over 100 matches in the Ekstraklasa for Pogoń. The former has played in Szczecin for 4 years, the latter for 7 years. Marcel Wędrychowski has already found a new club, signing a two-year contract with GKS Katowice. In the Katowice team, the former Pogoń midfielder will play with another porter, Kacper Łukasiak.
Last week, Pogoń announced the acquisition of Jose Pozo. This is the first new player signed so far. Pogoń's transfer manager, Tan Kesler, reveals the club's plan to strengthen the club in an interview for the club's official website.
- Jose Pozo is a player we have been following for some time. He was a key player for Śląsk Wrocław. We decided that we needed more creativity in the third period, more intensity, and someone who could help us play in small spaces. At the same time, a player who would help us in situations when the game was closed and would allow us to open it up. So Pozo was a leader in his team, and I knew him for a long time. I like the way he plays, his personality and character. I believe that he will quickly fit into our team. Of course, we are constantly talking to many players, we have them on the list. However, the key is to rebuild the team. After all, we have players who are leaving, as well as those who need to have competition in their positions. Therefore, some of our transfers will be obvious reinforcements to the squad. We also want to strengthen the competition in positions where we have very high-quality players. You already know that due to our owner's good contacts in Greece, we are in talks with an interesting player from that country, whose name you have already heard. We are very close to signing him. We are also talking to other players whose names have appeared in the media. We talked to Maik Nawrocki from Celicu Glasgow, we had talks with Luquinhas. We are very close to signing Mora Ndiaye. We think he is a good player who will strengthen the squad. He will raise its quality and level. So we are in talks with many players who can come into the team and have an impact on it. Those who will change the perception of this club and the way we play. I can tell our fans that all the players we are talking to and who will come to us are chosen by me, by Alex and our coach. In an ideal situation, we would like to strengthen the squad with four or five players. However, we must also remember that our goal is also to maintain what we already have. We get a lot of enquiries from different clubs about our top players. We really want to keep them, but if that doesn't work out, we will have to have and we do have a plan to replace them - comments Pogoń's managing director Tan Kesler. (voivodeship)
