Four Poles in the fight for the world championship. One of them is fighting to make history.

Four Poles in the fight for the world championship. One of them is fighting to make history.

In the first event of the series, held in Malilla, Sweden, the Orlen Oil Motor Lublin junior demonstrated absolute dominance, winning all six heats he competed in, leaving his rivals utterly speechless. Przyjemski is well on his way to winning gold for the second time. And if he wins the Junior World Championship title again in the future, he will make history as the first rider to achieve this feat three times. Previous two-time winners include Darcy Ward, Emil Sayfutdinow, Maksym Drabik, and Mateusz Cierniak.

Apart from Przyjemski, in Riga we will also see Kevin Małkiewicz (3rd place in Malilla), as well as Antoni Mencel and Jan Przanowski, making their debut in the series, who showed good performances in Sweden and will gain further valuable experience on the international stage.

Who will threaten Poles?

The competition is fierce. The Poles' most formidable rivals appear to be William Drejer from Denmark, who placed 2nd in Malilla; Nazar Parnicki, who finished 4th in the first tournament and successfully competes in the SEC series against seniors; and Scandinavians Mikkel Andersen and Mathias Pollestad, tipped to be the future leaders of European speedway.

It is worth recalling that it was Parnicki who triumphed in Riga last year, ahead of Przyjemski and Andersen – these three seem to be the main favorites in this year's edition as well.

The 2024 season saw changes to the competition format, modeled after the adult Grand Prix series. After the regular round, the top two riders will advance directly to the final, while the next eight will compete in two semi-finals for the remaining spots in the decider.

It's time for the next chapter in the rivalry between the young wolves. Will Przyjemski maintain his lead and take a step toward a second title? Or will one of his compatriots or foreign rivals be able to break his dominance?
