He asked Julia Szeremeta if she supported Sławomir Mentzen. This is how she reacted

In April last year, Julia Szeremeta ran in the elections to the Lublin Voivodeship Assembly from the Confederation and Non-Party Local Governments lists. She received 1,409 votes and did not win a seat.

When the boxer won a silver medal at the games in August, Sławomir Mentzen, among others, congratulated her on her success. He called her "our Olympic medalist" and published her campaign poster.

Shortly after returning from Paris, Julia Szeremeta was a guest on the Sports Channel's program "Hejt Park" and there she explained her running in the elections. "I got involved in it a little, maybe unconsciously. And that's how it turned out. […] I had one proposal, another. One person told me about it, then another. I actually said okay, so that they would leave me alone, and I didn't really participate in it, because I didn't post it on [social] media, nor did I get involved, because I wasn't really interested in politics and I'm still not interested," she said at the time .

Julia Szeremeta says it straight: some people wanted to make me a political fanatic

The first round of presidential elections will take place on May 18. WP SportoweFakty journalist Mateusz Puka, referring to last year's local elections, asked Julia Szeremeta whether she supports Sławomir Mentzen, who is the Confederation candidate for president.

"I'm going to vote. But generally speaking, I'm not interested in politics and I never have been. I've never gone to rallies, there's no politician's banner hanging in my apartment," she said, not revealing who she'll be voting for. The boxer also mentioned that she's not following the presidential campaign. "It's not even about lack of time, but I'm not interested in these things [...]," she explained.

The sportswoman was also asked if she regretted running in last year's local elections. "It doesn't matter now. Some people wanted to make me out to be a political fanatic. I swallowed it, because that's just how the media is. It doesn't really matter to me, because I'm focused on my sports career. Politics is not my thing," she said.
