Horrible news from Łódź! A well-known representative has been excluded

Let us recall that in Saturday's Champions League semi-final, JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel's center Norbert Huber suffered an eye injury. That is, one of the Polish representatives. Although it turned out that the injury was not as serious as it could be assumed, and the player himself appeared in the Atlas Arena on Sunday, in an unusual role .
Bad news from Łódź. Jakub Popiwczak's unlucky injuryUnfortunately, this is not the end of the misfortune for the club from Jastrzębie-Zdrój. During the warm-up before the match for the bronze medal of the Champions League, libero Jakub Popiwczak suffered an injury.
"In today's match we will play without Norbert Huber, who suffered an eye injury yesterday, and without Jakub Popiwczak, who had an eye injury recurrence during the pre-match warm-up. Cheers, gentlemen!" - we read in the official statement of JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel.
It is worth recalling that Popiwczak suffered his first injury during the semi-final match in the PlusLiga against the later, as it turned out, Polish champions. In the match against Bogdanka LUK Lublin, the main libero did not take part, and was replaced by the talented Jakub Jurczyk .
The same player was included in the JSW Jastrzębski squad on an emergency basis in Sunday's match against Halkbank Ankara.
Nikola Grbic will have a problem? Important volleyball player out of the gameThe question remains how serious Popiwczak's injury is. The libero is definitely the top of the PlusLiga, and there are many indications that he will be number 1 in the Polish national team. Coach Nikola Grbić will not use Paweł Zatorski, the Olympic vice-champion, the most decorated volleyball player in the national team's history, in the 2025 season. It seems that now is the time for Popiwczak.
The libero from Legnica (Lower Silesia) can therefore only be wished the best of health and recovery from his injury. The Polish volleyball player certainly took a certain risk related to returning to the team after his previous problems. However, it is hardly surprising that Popiwczak wanted to help the team fight for a valuable success in the Champions League. Especially since for him and players such as the aforementioned Huber or Tomasz Fornal – this is the last tournament in the colors of the club from Jastrzębie-Zdrój.
