After a stormy dispute between coach Michał Probierz and Robert Lewandowski, the Polish national football team still does not have a coach. The president of the Polish Football Association has already started searching for a successor and, according to unofficial information, he wants to finalize this matter by the end of June. Unfortunately, he may not get one of his favorites.

According to media reports, Cezary Kulesza was very interested in acquiring Maciej Skorża, who won the Asian Champions League with the Japanese team Urawa Red Diamonds. The head of the Polish Football Association (PZPN) even met the coach several times in the USA, where he flew to the Club World Championships. Sebastian Staszewski spoke about this in an interview with Meczyki.pl.

– There was more than one conversation – he admitted. – Skorża definitely did not reject this offer, he is considering it, but it will not be easy to close it. I heard that friends are urging him to take advantage of the offer – added Staszewski.

Skorża will not become national team coach?

However, Skorża has a contract with the Japanese club until 2026, which would involve a large amount of compensation from the Polish Football Association. In addition to football arguments: the Polish national team in crisis in exchange for a strong position in Urawa, there were also less obvious issues. - It won't be easy to convince Maciej Skorża. He is very strongly tied to the word he gave to the Japanese club. At the moment it doesn't look to me as if it will work out and the federation will be able to acquire him - the journalist emphasized in the program "Tylko Sport".

– Two days ago it looked different. The coach was in favour, he wanted to talk to the club, but he probably thought it over, took into account family issues, among other things, and the matter changed. It may be very difficult to implement – ​​he added.
