Magda Linette said goodbye to the singles competition on Tuesday, unexpectedly losing to Elsie Jacquemot in the first round. The Frenchwoman gave the Pole only the first set and after using her chances in the next two sets, she was able to enjoy the victory and advancement to the second round.

In doubles, the 112th-ranked player from Poznań will be partnered by Pera born in Zadar (379th WTA), while on the other side of the net, Shuko Aoyama (49th WTA) and Ena Shibahara (55th WTA) will be specializing in doubles. The first of the aforementioned Japanese players is not even ranked in singles, which clearly shows what kind of game her rivals are emphasizing.

As for Magda Linette's achievements in the doubles tournament on the courts of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, they do not give much reason for optimism.
