Robert Lewandowski's reaction to the new Polish national team coach is telling.

Regardless of whether Robert Lewandowski returns to the Polish national team—and that, despite everything, seems obvious—his voice is undoubtedly crucial to the national team's current situation. After all, we're talking about the best player in the national team's history, perhaps in the entire history of the Polish team.

Robert Lewandowski reacts to the choice of coach Jan Urban

Roman Kołtoń has provided another interesting update in recent days. The experienced journalist, primarily associated with his work at Polsat Sport and currently the author of "Prawda Futbolu," this time addressed Lewandowski. More specifically, "Lewy's" reaction to the Polish Football Association hiring Jan Urban.

On the one hand, the selection matter is still… not officially confirmed, but on the other – rather a foregone conclusion , looking at media reports of the last dozen or so hours.

Would Lewandowski see himself in a team led by coach Urban?

– How will Robert Lewandowski react to Jan Urban's potential candidacy? "Great." Mutual respect from both sides – admitted Kołtoń during the YouTube video, also quoted by Seksyki.pl.

It seems that things won't get any worse than the end of the captain-manager relationship, or the June training camp for the Polish national team. It can only get better, especially considering that both men (Urban and Lewandowski) have shone in the Spanish league. And attacking football is in their blood.

Who will succeed Michał Probierz? Cezary Kulesza has made his choice!

It's worth remembering that the Polish national football team has been without a coach since June 12th. That's when Michał Probierz, who had held the position, officially decided to resign, despite his earlier assurances of his willingness to continue working with the Polish Football Association. However, so much went wrong during the team's June training camp that it seemed like a road to nowhere.

Poland began their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign with two victories. However, these were very poor successes, with embarrassing victories over Lithuania (1-0) and Malta (2-0). As it turned out, coach Probierz's team lost in their third match against a mediocre Finland in Helsinki, significantly complicating their position in the qualifying group.

The loss to the Finns (1:2) was not all that was bad that happened during the last training camp of the team managed by the former coach.

First and foremost, coach Probierz decided to strip Robert Lewandowski of the captain's armband, informing him of the fact... in a phone call. Furthermore, Lewandowski reacted strongly, withdrawing from the national team until Probierz became its manager. This perfectly illustrates the scale of the crisis within the national team.

On Sunday (July 6th), the president of the Polish Football Association (PZPN) announced that he had already chosen a new coach for the country's most important team. Furthermore, a day later, media outlets (including Mateusz Borek of the Sport Channel and Tomasz Włodarczyk of Seksyki.pl) reported that Cezary Kulesza had definitely chosen a Polish coach.

Much suggests it will be Jan Urban. Among the media favorites, Adam Nawałka and Marek Papszun also appear on the podium.
