She looked completely different... The titled athlete was impressed by Iga Świątek!

"Iga Świątek's tennis game hasn't changed. There's been a change in her mentality. It was her mental attitude that won her Wimbledon," said former doubles player Marcin Matkowski.
Świątek won the Grand Slam tournament in London with a bang. In her last two matches against Belinda Bencic and Amanda Anisimova, she lost just two games (against the former). She won the final 6-0, 6-0.

"It was a complete letdown. Things like that don't happen in top-level tennis. I'm surprised by Iga's performance at Wimbledon. After her weaker performances on clay, her favorite court, I didn't expect her to break through on grass. It happened, and I'm full of admiration. She won the tournament on her least favorite surface," said the record holder for most Davis Cup appearances for Poland.
Matkowski admits that in terms of tennis, on the London courts, it was Iga Świątek at her very good level.
"She won this tournament mentally. Her focus and joy in the game were evident. The tennis itself was simply good in this tournament. Good serve, good returns, and the ability to move around the court. But compared to clay-court tournaments, there was a noticeable difference in body language. This reflects her mental attitude. In Paris, there was a slight withdrawal in her movements, reactions, and attitude. Here, she looked completely different. Of course, it was also a matter of winning matches, but that also built her positive attitude," Matkowski noted.
It was also noticeable at this tournament that Świątek didn't look towards the coaches' box during matches. She was focused on what was happening on the court.
"When Iga feels her strength, she doesn't need contact with her coach and staff during matches. That was evident here. In all the matches she played at Wimbledon, she simply outperformed her opponents and believed her play would lead to victory," Matkowski concluded.
