Underrated Spanish city awaits tourists. No crowds like Barcelona

The mass demonstrations that have been taking place in Spanish cities for months are effectively scaring tourists away. Protests against overtourism have already taken place in Barcelona, Malaga and Madrid. However, there are many cities in this beautiful European country that look kindly on foreign visitors. One of them is Zaragoza, located in Aragon. Although it is the fifth largest city in Spain, visitors are still welcome here.
Zaragoza instead of BarcelonaNot all Spanish cities want to get rid of tourists from their streets. Some places still encourage visitors, offering not only monuments and entertainment, but above all a clearly noticeable hospitality. We are talking not only about small towns in the provinces, but also large centers inhabited by several hundred thousand people. Just an hour's train ride from crowded Barcelona is the charming Zaragoza, the fifth most populated city in Spain. "There have been no protests against overtourism here so far," writes the British Daily Express. Meanwhile, in the neighboring capital of Catalonia, demonstrators have repeatedly made their guests' vacations unpleasant, for example by pouring water on them with guns or chanting anti-tourist slogans.
Underrated city for a weekendAs promised by the Official Tourism Portal of Spain, Zaragoza can be visited even if we only have two days at our disposal. Unfortunately, tourists from Poland will not be able to get here directly by low-cost airlines for now – they can, however, use ports in Barcelona, Madrid or Valencia. “Zaragoza is still an underrated city. It has a lot to offer in terms of hotels, restaurants and cultural wealth. It is a city that is over 2,000 years old. We want to share this heritage with other tourists from all over the world and we want them to come to us not only in the summer,” says Ignacio Rodriguez Ruiz, head of tourism promotion in the regional government of Aragon.
