ASAE, Vinhos Verdes and Vinhos do Douro and Porto reinforce inspection during the harvest

The three entities, the Food and Economic Safety Authority (ASAE), the Viticulture Commission of the Vinho Verde Region (CVRVV) and the Douro and Port Wine Institute (IVDP), have strengthened the cooperation protocol they have maintained for several years, which aims to promote the coordination, control and inspection of the 2025 harvest.
With the aim of sharing knowledge to strengthen control over the origin of Vinho Verde and Douro and Port wines, the leaders and their respective teams from the three entities met at Casa dos Vinhos Verdes, in Porto, to coordinate plans for the Vinho Verde DO and Douro and Port DO.
Ensuring the traceability of grapes and their producers, and ensuring compliance with the law in matters related to the protection of Designations of Origin and Geographical Indication, are two of the objectives outlined in the session, which involved ASAE and representatives from the wine sector. The strengthening of the protocol also focuses on "greater efficiency between teams, points of contact, and the streamlining of shared processes for greater accuracy and monitoring," ASAE explains in a statement.
At a time when information is more important than ever, support regional and local journalism. Access to most VTM news is (still) free, but it's not free; journalism costs money and requires investment. This contribution is a way to directly support A Voz de Trás-os-Montes and its journalists. Our counterpart is independent and local journalism, but not only that. It means continuing to inform despite all contingencies; we never stop for a single day.
