Between Friday and Sunday, Vilar de Perdizes once again became the capital of traditional therapies, with the Popular Medicine Congress.

Lectures, workshops, masterclasses, alternative therapy consultations, and 35 exhibitors selling products based on ancestral knowledge or objects for protection and channeling energy, as well as local products, attracted hundreds of people to the town in the municipality of Montalegre.

For Ana Mendes, the trip to Póvoa de Varzim, which she made for the third time, was motivated by the environment she finds herself in. "I work in the holistic world; I'm a Reiki and crystal therapist," she explained, and this year was the best of the three in terms of demand for products like stones and macramé, herbs, energy sprays, and tarot and numerology consultations. "People who come here want a consultation and to ask questions, and this year went very well," she stated.
