EMARP launches new awareness campaign with 16 child and youth ambassadors

The new environmental awareness campaign by EMARP – Portimão Municipal Water and Waste Company , entitled “Recycle for Me”, is already on the streets and has the participation of 16 children and young ambassadors.

Aimed at promoting the selective separation of waste, with a special emphasis on organic waste (food scraps), the campaign was launched with the activation of the first communication supports in the municipality of Portimão.

The protagonists are children and young people aged six to 16, who have agreed to be the faces of change that aim to inspire their community to adopt sustainable habits.

Showing that separating waste is a simple and urgent gesture, essential to protecting natural resources and promoting a circular economy, is the goal of these young ambassadors, who take an active role in this mission, giving face and voice to the campaign.

In addition to selective local separation, carried out by depositing food waste in the brown container that has been part of the ecological islands since 2022, this EMARP campaign also includes the promotion of new domestic and community composting projects, the latter being developed exclusively in the parish of Mexilhoeira Grande.

In addition to the communication media featuring the ambassadors' images, already visible throughout the municipality, the campaign will be present on social media, with audiovisual content and testimonials, and in September it will reach schools, with the launch of a radio program also planned for that date.
