Father and daughter die from serious injuries in a fire in the municipality of Ourique

A man, aged around 75, died along with his 49-year-old daughter, after suffering serious injuries following a fire that occurred this Sunday, in the house where they lived, in the municipality of Ourique, district of Beja.

Speaking to Lusa, a source from the Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of Baixo Alentejo told Lusa that the fire, for which an alert was given at 7:18 am, broke out in a house in Aldeia de Palheiros, in the municipality of Ourique.

The man was declared dead at the scene, while the woman was taken to the hospital due to smoke inhalation and some burns.

Mário Batista highlighted that the flames reached and destroyed the room where the man was sleeping.
