João Vieira shines in the third stage of the DriftWars Cup Trophy, at the Algarve Stadium
Last weekend, the Algarve Stadium was the stage for pure adrenaline and driving mastery, hosting the third stage of the DriftWars Cup Trophy. The event, organized in partnership with TURN 6, also marked the arrival of the PT/BR Intercontinental Cup, reinforcing the event's international dimension. Amid roaring engines and acclaimed stunts screeching the asphalt, João "Janita" Vieira emerged as the overall winner, besting the competition and thrilling the crowd.
The Portuguese driver, already well-known in the national drifting scene, where he debuted at age 14 in 2018, took the top spot on the podium, beating Rafael Ferreira, who finished second, and Thomas Moss, who completed the podium with third place. João Vieira's victory was not only another personal achievement, but also a reflection of the current dynamism of the sport in Portugal, which is gaining more and more fans and projecting the country onto the international drifting scene.

With three stages already completed—Sever do Vouga, Montalegre, and now the Algarve—the DriftWars Cup Trophy is now preparing to head to the Portuguese capital. Lisbon will host the final stage, scheduled for October 4th and 5th.
