Local authorities and schools unite to combat academic failure

Local authorities and schools unite to combat academic failure

Currently, the school success rate in the municipality is between 80 and 85%, “but we want more”, says Alexandre Favaios, the mayor, setting the target of “85% of students completing their studies within the normal time”. To this end, the project will deploy several technicians, from a “multidisciplinary” team, to “face the new challenges” facing schools and the world, such as artificial intelligence.

According to Alexandre Favaios, the Intermunicipal Plan for Promoting School Success (PIPSE) will have “a multidisciplinary team that covers several areas of intervention in schools”, namely “psychomotor therapists, psychologists, social service technicians, technicians in the area of new technologies”, among others. The mayor is confident that the combination of efforts will allow “leveraging the reinforcement of learning, socio-emotional skills, the school-family relationship and employability and digital skills”.
