Luísa Barros and Catarina Azevedo are the CDU candidates for Alcoutim

The Alcoutim Coordinating Committee of the CDU – Unitarian Democratic Coalition announces its first candidates for the local government bodies – Municipal Council and Municipal Assembly, of the municipality of Alcoutim.
Luísa Barros is the lead candidate for the Alcoutim City Council. At 74, she is a teacher, having worked in tourism and at the Institute of High Culture as a student. She entered teaching in 1973. She was a secondary school teacher for 40 years and principal of the Emídio Navarro Secondary School in Almada.
At a political level, she was a member of the Almada Municipal Assembly, where she served as 1st secretary of the assembly's board.
He is currently a member of the Sociocultural and Development Association of Tacões, having previously been part of its governing bodies.
Catarina Azevedo is the CDU candidate for the Municipal Assembly. At 44, she has a degree in chemistry, is a union leader, and is a member of the Feijó Recreational Club.
"With this announcement, the CDU takes an important step in preparing for the October local elections, aiming to achieve the goal of regaining representation in municipal bodies. The CDU's presence is missed in Alcoutim, the municipality, its parishes, and its people. These are figures with a connection to the land, to the problems and desires of those who live, work, and visit Alcoutim , who have proposals and programs that will be the voice of the people of Alcoutim," the party stated in a press release.
