Many people moved by faith in the Corpus Christi Procession

Despite the scorching heat, the faithful did not move to watch the Corpus Christi procession pass by and then join the group that grew larger and larger until it reached the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, where the consecrated host was received, carried by the bishop of Vila Real, D. António Augusto de Azevedo, who celebrated mass in the Cathedral before the procession.
During the homily, the bishop spoke of the importance of the Eucharist and communion, stating that this “is not a mere devotional or individual gesture, it is above all a sign of faith, a sacred gesture in which we receive Christ himself, we make his life our life, so that each one of us may also be a gift for others”.
