National Road 2 Route elected International Route of the Year at the Motorcycle Tourism Awards

The National Road 2 ( EN2 ) Route was elected International Route of the Year in the fourth edition of the Mototurismo 2025 Awards, one of the most prestigious events in the sector held in Spain, which annually distinguishes the best initiatives to promote two-wheel tourism.
This international award is given to a public or private entity based outside Spain, which has distinguished itself in the promotion and dissemination of the values of motorcycle tourism, contributing significantly to the tourism development of a region or country.
The distinction of the EN2 in this category represents an important milestone for Portugal, and reinforces the growing recognition of the National Road 2 Route as one of the most emblematic European itineraries for motorcycle travel enthusiasts.
«With 739.26 kilometres crossing the country from north to south, from Chaves to Faro, the EN2 offers a unique experience, combining heritage, stunning landscapes, local culture and hospitality, which make it an unavoidable reference in the international motorcycle tourism scene» points out the Association of Municipalities of the National Road 2 Route (AMREN2).
In the Algarve, this route passes through the municipalities of Loulé, São Brás de Alportel and Faro, where it ends.
The nomination and award of this prize reflect the joint efforts of several Portuguese entities, namely AMREN2, which have been actively working to enhance and promote this tourist route.
«This international recognition consolidates the position of the EN2 as a tourist destination of choice, and promises to attract even more motorcycle tourism enthusiasts to discover the heart of Portugal, along a route that is already a symbol of identity, diversity and authenticity», adds AMREN2.
