RTA photography exhibition arrives at Tavira Plaza until August 31st

RTA photography exhibition arrives at Tavira Plaza until August 31st

As part of the celebrations of the 55th anniversary of the RTA – Algarve Tourism Region, the Tavira Plaza shopping center has been hosting, since July 14th, a traveling photography exhibition that aims to promote the valuable collection of Asta and Luís de Almeida d'Eça, a couple of photographers who played a fundamental role in building the tourist image of the region.

The exhibition, comprising 22 photographic panels, is open to the public in Store 3.47, on the 1st floor, and portrays the Algarve between the 1960s and 1980s, revealing a perspective on the region's identity, landscape and daily life at a time when tourism was beginning to take its first steps towards international recognition.

The photographs are part of an artistic and documentary collection that the RTA intends to showcase throughout the Algarve 's municipalities, in an exhibition that celebrates the past with an eye to the future. The exhibition will be open to visitors until August 31st.

"This initiative is part of Tavira Plaza's ongoing commitment to supporting, promoting, and hosting cultural projects that value regional identity. More than just a commercial space, Tavira Plaza is a community meeting place, open to sharing knowledge, traditions, and artistic expressions that are part of the Algarve's DNA," the commercial space states in a press release.
