Stephen de Barros da Silva is a candidate for the Régua City Council
At 41 years old, Estêvão da Silva is the Chega candidate for the Municipal Council of Peso da Régua. He was a soldier in the Portuguese Army between 1994 and 2000, having carried out a peacekeeping mission in Bosnia. He has been a prison guard since 2000.
In the statement sent to VTM, Chega describes Estêvão da Silva as a “practicing Catholic, convinced patriot, conservative and right-wing”, revealing that he is from Blois-Tours, in France, but was raised with his maternal grandparents in Poiares, Peso da Régua, the municipality where he studied and where he still lives today.
It should be remembered that in the last local elections, in 2021, the PSD won the elections in Peso da Régua, with 4,827 votes (53.66%).
