Suspect in the murder of a congresswoman is an employee of a security company, police say

He was wearing a police uniform and was driving a vehicle equipped with lights that resemble police cruisers. According to police, a "manifesto" was found in the suspect's car that listed "many lawmakers and other officials" who would be potential targets for an attack.
The list of targets included other Democratic politicians. According to police, doctors who provide care to women seeking abortions were also on the list. In total, 70 people were part of the plan.
Police found papers in the suspect's vehicle that read "No Kings." Demonstrations organized by an organization called No Kings were planned for today. Today, June 14, is American Flag Day and also Trump's birthday. According to the organization's website, the protests are an act against the president and to show that "the flag does not belong to the president, but to the people."
Protests in Minnesota have been called off, organizers say, after the state's governor, Democrat Tim Walz, recommended the cancellation after the early morning attacks.
Given the targeted shootings of state lawmakers overnight, we are asking the public to not attend today's planned demonstrations across Minnesota out of an abundance of caution. pic.twitter.com/7hFccnrQUT
