When death comes too soon

When someone dies prematurely—what is this about the time of death?—the commotion is widespread. Even more so when that person lived in the public sphere. Depending on the scale of their fame, the suffering extends to the country or the world, even if we never met the departed person or even followed their exploits.
Death before one's time—before the time we expected—always implies harshness. It's never natural causes, which are reserved for those who have already traversed all stages of life. Typically, in these cases, there's an abrupt interruption of a path that was thought long, perhaps brilliant, due to an accident, excess, or a treacherous illness. Nothing is natural about the death of a young person. So how should we deal with it?
