Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson dies at 82

Considered one of the greatest names in music, American Brian Wilson, co-founder and leader of the rock band Beach Boys, died this Wednesday (11), at the age of 82.

The news of the musician's death was confirmed by his family on social media. In the message, Wilson's relatives asked for "privacy" and said they were "speechless."

The cause of Wilson's death has not been revealed, but the American had a "severe neurocognitive disorder" similar to dementia, according to his managers. He was diagnosed with the condition in early 2024.

A native of Inglewood, California, Wilson formed the Beach Boys with his brothers Dennis and Carl, cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. The band was formed in 1961.

The Beach Boys are known for songs such as "Surfin' USA", "God Only Knows", "I Get Around", "Don't Worry Baby", "California Girls" and "Help me, Rhonda".
