Ospa celebrates 150 years of Italian immigration in RS with concerts in Caxias do Sul and Porto Alegre

In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Italian immigration to the state, which will be celebrated this Tuesday, May 20, the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra (Ospa) will hold special performances in Porto Alegre and Caxias do Sul over the weekend. On Friday (23), at 8 pm, the group will take to the stage at the UCS Teatro (Rua Francisco Getúlio Vargas, 1,130 - Caxias do Sul), while on Saturday (24), the concert will take place at 5 pm at the Casa da Ospa Cultural Complex (Av. Borges de Medeiros, 1,501), in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul. Admission is free to the performance in Serra, with tickets available for collection at the Italian Honorary Consulate in Caxias do Sul. In the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, tickets cost between R$10.00 and R$50.00 on the Sympla platform. The concert in Porto Alegre will be broadcast live on YouTube, available on the Ospa channel. In both concerts, the orchestra will be conducted by conductor Manfredo Schmiedt, with special guest soloists Carla Domingues and Martin Muehle. The program's repertoire includes classics that explore romance and melancholy, with works by composers such as Puccini, Verdi, Wolf-Ferrari, Mascagni and Respighi.
