«Ribeirinha Beach» premiere in Portimão recreates a beach atmosphere by the river

The cultural association POIS – Palco das Ondas Invisíveis Studio premieres the event «Ribeirinha Beach», at the Clube Naval de Portimão, starting this Friday, May 23rd.

This initiative takes place between May 23rd and June 1st, in the Portimão Riverside Area, from 5pm to 10pm, with music, entertainment, workshops , performances and traditional outdoor games.

The organization's intention is to raise questions related to beach tourism, focusing on reflecting on the best way to maintain a balance between sustainability and the economy.

POIS believes that the coast should not be overloaded and highlights the need to promote quality urban tourism that values ​​local heritage, traditions and know-how.

The launch of «Ribeirinha Beach» is also based on the belief that the «city belongs to everyone» and that everyone should get involved with the common goal of improving it.

In this debut edition, the space next to the Naval Club will have an area where there will be room for music, workshops , gatherings, traditional games and other presentations.

The first day, May 23, opens with DJ Manawee, a performance by Abanda (7:00 pm) and AFROBEaTS (9:00 pm), followed on Saturday by a dance workshop (6:00 pm) and shows by MudBlood (7:00 pm) and CrashDoll (9:00 pm), with an after party at the cultural space «Aldei».

On Sunday, May 25th, the program includes creative workshops , starting at 5 pm, a performance promoted by Bóia Associação Cultural, entitled «Summer Love», at 8:30 pm, and another installation-performance to which Pátio will join, called «Tourism is a fire that burns without being seen», at 9:30 pm.

A yoga class and a DJ set with Manawee (day 27), a performance by 2Nobre Folk Music and music from the 1980s played by a DJ (day 28), as well as a show by Banda Brazil (day 29) are the suggestions during the week.

To promote reflection and debate, «Algarve: Tourism and Population» will be the theme of a discussion promoted by the Civic Association Cidade e Participação, on May 30th, at 5 pm, with performances by Rude Lion, at 7 pm, and Ben & the Pirates, at 9 pm, scheduled for later.

Saturday, May 31st, will be animated by DJ Manawee, at 7:00 pm, and Deelight, at 9:00 pm.

«Ribeirinha Beach» closes on June 1st with creative workshops at 5pm, «Pandora» at 6:30pm, the show Duo Niu, a dance workshop at 7:30pm, and the installation-performance by the associations Bóia and Pátio, «Tourism is a fire that burns without being seen» at 8:30pm.

The cultural association already organizes the «Indireita Street Fest», which has proven to be a success and has had strong support from the population, thus continuing its mission of reinventing the city, with the promotion of quality events throughout the year, in public spaces and in the center, transforming Portimão into a «Happy-City».
