Intermunicipal Community relaunches competition to expand headquarters in Aveiro

The Intermunicipal Community of the Aveiro Region (CIRA) has approved the relaunch of the public tender for the expansion of its headquarters, after the first one was left deserted in May, a source from that entity revealed today.
The decision was taken at the Intermunicipal Council meeting, held at the beginning of the month.
The base value for the tender is 2.9 million euros, plus VAT, and the expected completion period for the work is 20 months.
According to information provided through social media, the expansion “arises from the need to respond to the growth of the Intermunicipal Community”.
The project was designed by an architectural firm with the aim of “solving the space and accessibility problems of the current building”.
The new building will be built next to the current headquarters and will have five floors.
One of them will be below ground level, intended for a technical and archive area, while the remaining four floors will be above ground level.
The ground floor and first floor will be "semi-public access", while the rest will be reserved for "work space".
The Intermunicipal Community of the Aveiro Region is a public institution of an associative nature and territorial scope and aims to achieve common interests of the municipalities that comprise it.
It is made up of the municipalities of Aveiro, Sever do Vouga, Ovar, Vagos, Estarreja, Águeda, Oliveira do Bairro, Ílhavo, Murtosa, Anadia and Albergaria-a-Velha.
