PSI starts the week recording gains

The Lisbon stock exchange closed the day recording gains, with an increase of 0.24% to 7,766.91 points.
Mota-Engil rose 1.59% to 5.125 euros, Semapa gained 1.46% to 18.10 euros, Altri increased 1.02% to 4.950 euros, EDP Renováveis added 0.51% to 9.89 euros and BCP advanced 0.47% to 0.7204 euros.
Countercyclically, NOS lost 0.64% to €3.910, followed by Corticeira Amorim, which fell 0.40% to €7.54. Jerónimo Martins slipped 0.37% to €21.58, Galp slipped 0.16% to €16.05, and Navigator fell 0.06% to €3.260.
The main European markets followed the Portuguese trend and closed in the 'green', with the CAC40 rising 0.92% to 7,896.93 points and the IBEX35 gaining 0.55% to 15,388.77 points.
Millennium Investment Banking market analyst Ramiro Loureiro states that " European stock markets are closing higher, in a week that will be marked by several monetary policy decisions (FED, BOE, and BOJ). In the corporate world, banks and semiconductor companies stood out positively and led the gains."
"The French CAC index demonstrated one of the best performances, with gains from Thales, Kering, STMicroelectronics, SocGen, and LVMH overshadowing Fitch's credit rating cut from AA- to A+, reflecting concerns about debt and political instability. Portugal saw the rating agency upgrade its credit rating from A- to A, highlighting its lower debt ratio," it states.
In the oil market, Texas-based WTI rose 0.69%, setting the price per barrel at $63.12, and Brent rose 0.42% to $67.25. Natural gas gained 1.70% to $2.991.
In the foreign exchange market, the euro appreciated 0.31% against the dollar, settling at 1.177 dollars.
