Participants in the Pé-de-Meia program born in the months of May and June will receive payment of the fourth installment of the 2025 Pé-de-Meia program this Wednesday the 25th.
The amount of R$200 corresponds to the attendance incentive and is intended for students in the public school system who are enrolled in regular high school or in the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) modality.
To be entitled to the benefit, students must have a minimum attendance of 80% in classes.
Staggered paymentPayments of the attendance incentive will be made until June 30, according to the month of birth of students enrolled in one of the three grades of high school in the public education system. Check the calendar:
- those born in January and February received it on June 23;
- those born in March and April receive it on June 24th;
- those born in May and June receive it on June 25th;
- those born in July and August receive it on June 26th;
- those born in September and October receive it on June 27th;
- Those born in November and December receive it on June 30th.
According to Caixa Econômica Federal – responsible for managing the resources transferred by the MEC – at this stage, in total, around 3.2 million students from public schools will receive the benefit.
DepositsThe fourth installment of the 2025 “high school savings” is being deposited into a Caixa savings account, automatically opened by the bank in the students’ name.
The amount can be transferred or withdrawn immediately, if the student wishes. Simply access the Caixa Tem app, if the student is 18 years of age or older.
In the case of a minor student, the legal guardian will need to authorize the student to use the account. This consent can be given in the app itself or at a Caixa bank branch.
Students can check the status of payments (rejected or approved) and their own school information and program rules on the MEC Student Journey app .
Information regarding payments under the federal program can also be found in the Caixa Tem app or the Social Benefits app.
IncentivesThe so-called High School Savings has four types of incentives:
- registration: registered at the beginning of the school year, fee paid once a year, in the amount of R$200;
- attendance: for minimum school attendance of 80% of total teaching hours. For regular education, there are nine installments, during the year, of R$200.
- completion: upon completion and approval in each of the three academic years of high school and participation in educational assessments, for a total amount of R$3,000. Withdrawal depends on obtaining a high school completion certificate;
- Enem: paid after participating in the two days of the National High School Exam , in the year the student completes the 3rd year of high school. The R$200 is paid in a single installment.
In this way, the sum of the financial-educational incentive can reach R$9.2 thousand per student at the end of high school.
Nest eggThe Pé-de-Meia is aimed at low-income public high school students. The initiative works as a savings account to promote the retention and completion of school for students at this stage of education.
The MEC clarifies that there is no need for students to enroll in the educational incentive program. Every student who meets the criteria of the federal program is automatically included.
