Wall Street closes with Nasdaq up more than 1%

Wall Street closed higher on Thursday (and is eyeing all-time highs). The S&P 500 is closing in on its previous record from February, buoyed by renewed strength in technology stocks, led by Nvidia, which set a new record alongside the Nasdaq 100.

The New York Stock Exchange closed this Thursday's session in positive territory, with special emphasis on the Nasdaq, which added more than 1%.

Thus, the Dow Jones added 0.94% to 43,386.84 points, the S&P 500 gained 0.85% to 6,143.70 points, and the technological Nasdaq appreciated 1.03% to 20,178.40 points.

Wall Street closed higher on Thursday ( and is eyeing all-time highs). The S&P 500 is closing in on its previous record high from February, buoyed by renewed strength in technology stocks, led by Nvidia Corp. , which set a new record alongside the Nasdaq 100. U.S. indexes also looked upbeat after the White House cleared the way for an extension of the tariff suspension.

This is as Donald Trump continues to dominate the spotlight. The US president has reportedly released reports that he may move up the selection of a new Federal Reserve (Fed) chairman until after the summer. Jerome Powell's term ends in May 2026, and a successor is expected to be announced about three to four months before that.
