Dado Dolabella breaks his silence after being sentenced to prison
On Friday night (29), Dado Dolabella 's defense spoke out after the actor was convicted of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and cousin, Marina Dolabella . Lawyer Fernanda Tripode classified the first instance decision as unfair, alleging procedural flaws, lack of evidence and contradictions between the police report and the testimony given in court. "Although the woman's word has value in our legal system, it cannot, alone and without other evidence, support a conviction," the note highlighted.
According to the defense, the accusation was based solely on Marina Dolabella 's account, who claimed to have suffered injuries such as a ruptured eardrum. Fernanda Tripode reinforced that the case is being processed under judicial secrecy, emphasizing: "This rule exists to protect the privacy of the parties and ensure a fair trial." The lawyer also noted that Law No. 14,857/2024 requires the preservation of the identities of victims in cases of domestic violence.
The statement released by the defense was echoed by Dado Dolabella on social media. The actor stated: "In light of the information that has been circulating, I am sharing here the official statement from my defense. I have complete confidence in the justice system and will proceed with serenity." He also emphasized his views on the case. "Clarification regarding the recent accusations: I repudiate any form of violence. I have complete confidence in the justice system, which is the appropriate place to clarify the facts," he declared.
The sentence was handed down by Judge Cíntia Souto Machado , of the 7th Domestic Violence Court of Barra da Tijuca. The actor received a sentence of two years and four months in an open prison. The Public Prosecutor's Office indicated that the assault occurred in October 2020, motivated by jealousy after the actor saw messages on the victim's cell phone. Dado Dolabella added: "I deeply respect all women who suffer violence. My life is guided by values of peace, growth, and responsibility." Finally, he expressed gratitude for the support he received: "I am immensely grateful to everyone who sent me messages of support and respect at this time."
