Lucas Guedez blasts gospel singer Cassiane for refusing to sing at his birthday party

An unexpected controversy has rocked the gospel music and media world, involving digital influencer and "Sabadou com Virginia" member Lucas Guedez and renowned gospel singer Cassiane . The reason? The artist's alleged refusal to perform at Guedez's birthday party, which will be an evangelical service. The situation escalated into a public exchange of barbs and veiled accusations of prejudice, reigniting important debates on social media.
The controversy began when Lucas Guedez, who will turn 30 on September 15th, expressed his frustration with the rejection on social media. "I really wanted to, but unfortunately there was some confusion. I was very sad, I cried, and just by saying I wanted to hold a service, there were countless temptations to not make it happen," Guedez vented, without initially giving details about the reason. He emphasized that, despite the setback, the service would be attended by other well-known figures in the religious world, such as Sarah Beatriz and Daniela Araújo. "I'm very happy because it will be a service with lots of praise. The way I love it, and old-school praise," said the communicator.
Despite the disappointment, Guedez expressed gratitude for the support and the opportunity to celebrate his faith and achievements. "That's what I felt in my heart, and that's what I'm going to do," he stated, reinforcing his intention to hold the event as he envisioned, with praise and words.
What did Cassiane say?Following Lucas Guedez's statement, Jayane Santana , Cassiane's daughter, came forward to defend her mother and clarify the situation. She vehemently denied Cassiane's refusal to perform and claimed that a scheduling conflict was the sole reason for the decision. "The party will be on my grandmother's birthday, my mother's mother. We have a very close relationship with Grandma... we no longer have our grandfather with us, and Grandma is becoming more sensitive every year. No excuses were made; we're simply going to spend the day with her, as a family, and that's what my mother explained to Lucas," Jayane explained.
However, the explanation wasn't enough to calm tensions. Lucas Guedez returned to social media, insinuating that the justification given by Cassiane's team was a "big excuse to cover something up." An openly gay man, the influencer raised suspicions that the real reason for the refusal was prejudice, something he initially didn't want to believe.
"We know the real reason for all this; I just didn't want to believe it. Forgive me!" Guedez said, his voice breaking. He also revealed that his own mother had already suspected the outcome: "My mother said this: 'Lu, I knew this wasn't going to happen. I knew she wasn't going to sing at your birthday party.'" The influencer expressed his deep disappointment in the singer, whom he considered a great role model. "I'm in shock by all of this and I can't believe this coming from someone I never expected, someone I knew personally," he concluded, lamenting that the situation had become public.
The LeoDias portal contacted singer Cassiane to discuss the celebrity's statements, but has not received a response so far.
