Beira-Mar continues to announce reinforcements

Beira-Mar continues to announce reinforcements
André Alves, Diogo Pereira, Sérgio Silva, Tiago Luís and Muslim Saleh are the most recent “new faces” in the squad that will be under Fabeta’s command

Beira-Mar, through its social media, has, in recent days, revealed some of the reinforcements that aim to provide more solutions to the squad that will be at Fabeta's command to "attack" the Portuguese Championship. Given the departures, already confirmed by the club, of 13 players, it is not surprising that Beira-Mar is active in the market.

Eleven reinforcements made official After announcing the signing of goalkeeper Carlos Madureira (ex-Trofense), defenders Tomás Sério and André Motta, both ex-Académico de Viseu, and Bruno Cruz, ex-Arronches and Benfica; Brazilian midfielder Romano, ex-Alcains; and forward João Pedra, ex-FC Porto under-19; the club revealed some more of the “new faces” in the group. For the centre of defence, Beira-Mar secured the services of the experienced (31 years old) Sérgio Silva, a footballer from Oliveira de Azeméis who had several high-level seasons at Oliveirense. He also represented Feirense and spent two and a half seasons in Indonesia, serving Arema FC. In the last two seasons he played for Gondomar, in the Portuguese Championship.

Diogo Pereira, who also played in the Campeonato de Portugal last season for Limianos (five goals and three assists in 18 games), is another new signing confirmed by the Aveiro club. He is a 24-year-old winger who spent most of his training at Sporting de Braga. André Alves (pictured) is also 24 years old, a footballer who can play both as a central defender and as a defensive midfielder, who arrives in Aveiro from Pevidém, also in the Campeonato de Portugal.

For the midfield, Beira-Mar also secured Tiago Luís and Muslim Saleh. Tiago Luís is a powerful midfielder (1.88 metres and 80 kilos) aged 25, who stood out for Guarda, a team in the Portuguese Championship, having finished the season with five assists and one goal in 28 matches. Muslim Saleh is a 23-year-old defensive midfielder from Nigeria. Last season, he helped Resende win the Honor Division of the Viseu Football Association. He played 36 matches, scored one goal and made two assists.

Eight renewals The club has already announced that Didi, Mathiola, brothers Diogo and Francisco Sancho, Tomás Bozinosk, Pedro Neves, Tiago Melo and Abdul, footballers who renewed their contracts with Beira-Mar, will continue in the “auri-negro” squad, which starts training on the pitch today.
