Volleyball: Summer Cup brings together 200 teams from five European countries

The 24th edition of the Summer Cup, organized by Lousã Volley Clube, which takes place from July 8 to 13, in nine municipalities in the Coimbra and Leiria region, will bring together 200 teams from 46 clubs from five European countries (Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and the Netherlands). The initiative was presented yesterday at the Lousã Municipal Theater and was attended by the organization and councilors of the municipalities that will host the event. Of the 200 teams present, 58% are Portuguese and 42% are foreign, of which 17% are Spanish.

The tournament will be contested by three thousand athletes on 40 volleyball courts spread across 18 pavilions. Around 900 matches will be played and will be officiated by 70 referees in the under-14, under-15, under-16, under-17, under-18 and under-19 categories. There will be 28 buses operating throughout the competition. There will also be 30 members of the medical staff.
